Family Night @ Remnant J-High

This Monday Remnant J-high hosted it’s very first “Parent Share” night to kick of the new series “REEL LOVE”. Over 300 letters were sent out to the families of junior high students in our community inviting them to come out and be a part of the junior high service that meets every Monday at the Main St. Campus main auditorium. For this service the j-high team pulled out all the stops, from transforming the auditorium into a Valentine’s Day themed experience that was Disneyland quality, a desert table, and an all-star band ready to make it happen. Not only that, but the tech all-stars were called out to do what they do best, put on a rocken service! With Hannah Q. on media and Chris G. at the video switcher, the parents were in for a treat.

Not to be forgotten, under the leadership of Music Director Scottie Malec and Worship Director Aly Phipps, the band brought a powerful worship experience, engaging both the parents and students.

And another shout-out to our fearless leader Brenda Medina. Without her support for all the different ministries, this night couldn’t of happened.

Everyone brought their A-game and it showed throughout the service and night overall. Awesome job everyone!

The App Wall!

On December 1st, we were chosen as one of the featured stage designs on Church Stage Design Ideas!

Excerpt From Church Stage Design Ideas:

“Van Metschke at South Hills Church in Corona, California loosely based this design on a stage he saw at Mariners church in Irvine, CA. The “App Wall” as it was dubbed, is made up of multiple 2′ x 2′ squares of 1/8″ Luan plywood. Each corner was rounded with a jig-saw. The majority of the “apps” are painted flat white, others are painted flat grey or left natural wood. They were then attached to the wall with drywall screws.

The train mural was painted by Annie Phipps for their series “Derailed”. The stage is lit with a combination of Mega-Light LED washes and Elation Design Spots.”

This is a great honor and people have already commented about how they are going to be using the idea for their next series! Awesome job team!
